Illustration Friday: Giant

Hey guys! This is my entry for this weeks Illustration Friday! The theme this week is Giant, so I went ahead with a children's book interpretation in watercolor and ink. I think I'd like to really get away from inking my work, so I think I'm gonna try some new approaches involving either gouache or acrylic, so we'll see what turns up over the next couple weeks.

  4. great illustration--especially love the giant's ears! I've always been a fan of ink & watercolor, but I now try to use line a little more sparingly. But, I love line! Welcome to WaWe!

  5. Very nice illo...I'm kinda on the fence with inking watercolor. All my watercolors that are non-illos have no line work. Since I've been working toward children's book illustration, every one has been inked...and I like the effect. But if you can achieve what you need without line, I think that's great.

  8. Great work, I also like the ears, nice touch! Very interesting that you paint first and then finish your work with ink. I do it the other way around.
